Moving into our new house was a great day but over time one thing started to annoy me about its bathroom fan. You just couldn't lie in the bath with the whirring noise going on so we did what any sensible lazy person would do. I turned the damned thing off at its switch. Now finally i could lie in the bath and relax with nothing but the sound of the occasional escaping bubble to disturb me. For about a year this was fine but then we began to get damp appearing inside the walls and ceiling.
Our builder informed us that the walls needed re-plastering so we paid for that and the redecoration afterwards. He said we should keep the fan on to avoid this in the future but offered to install a quieter fan for us. Sadly though, and maybe I'm too picky but what sound quiet when during normal daytime is it seems not actually that quiet during a nice relaxing bath. The whining was back.
I'd had enough so started looking myself on the internet for silent bathroom fans. I was surprised to turn up very little of interest it seems like nobody believe it or not claims to make a truly silent bathroom fan to the general market but I did however notice Panasonic were marketing some fans they had branded Whisper quiet.
Google shopping showed the cheapest prices at Amazon of all places so I ordered a Panasonic FV-08WQ1 WhisperWall bathroom fan. When I told my other half what I had ordered there was a little doubt as to if I had done the right thing. The Panasonic Fan from Amazon worked out more than 50% cheaper than the one the builder installed for us.
Even so, the fan arrived quick enough and I had a buddy swap it for the one installed. First switch on and I was worried that may friend had installed it wrong as it wasn't doing anything. I had to get a candle and blow it out to begin to see the smoke being taken into the fan from the center of the room. Very impressive! This is one extremely quiet fan. They could safely market this as a silent fan for me and as you may have gathered Im very fussy.
Back to silent relaxing baths. Thats about it just wanted to share my experience with you.
Final note just to say I realize I'm basing my experience on just one manufacturer but that's my review and I would invite you to comment bellow and recommend other "silent" bathroom fans. Panasonic Bathroom Fans review
